Chronology of cameras Zeiss Ikon
Photo-Plait describes it as the "jewel-camera" (the name is also used in the advertising leaflets published by the manufacturer). Admittedly, but an expensive jewel, since when it was marketed its price was 575 francs (1932), whereas the first Ikonta 3x4 cm only cost 235 francs with a Novar lens.
This is probably what makes this camera unusal in garage sales.
Though it was not clearly stated, this camera was targeting a (wealthy) females, because it was provided with a nice case that could easily be put into a handbag.
Be careful, German production has come up with several cameras named "Colibri", either with a C or with a K. At Zeiss, it is written with a K, but, for the French market, it is refered at Colibri with a C (although the sleeving is still with a K !).
